May – Kalbar sunflower Festival – One of the most talked about and photographed events in southeast Queensland. Started by Russell and Jenny Jenner in an effort to diversify in a drought, the festival has grown to become a favourite event for tens of thousands of Australians and is a major fundraiser for Cancer Care and the Mater Hospital.
June – Eat Local Month – a month long festival of award-winning local produce, farms, wineries, distilleries, and authentic paddock-to-plate experiences.
June – Winter Harvest Festival – a signature event of Scenic Rim Eat Local Month, offers an ideal experience for coach tour groups seeking a fabulous day out. The festival takes place in the picturesque country town of Kalbar
March/July/Nov – Farm Gate Trail – Autumn, Winter and Summer the Destination Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail gives farmers, growers, producers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and flavour-makers across the region a chance to open their gates to celebrate where your food comes from.
